Mashed Rutabega

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 1/2 lb) rutabagas
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 1. peel rutabega with vegetable peeler and cut into small cubes, about 1/2" or smaller.
  • 2 2. boil rutabega cubes for approximately 15-20 minutes. the time may vary based on size of pieces. they are done when easily poked with a fork.
  • 3 3. drain rutabega and mash with potato masher with all other ingredients. a food processor works great if you have one.
