Ingredients

- 1 lb dry pinto beans, soaked overnight
- 1 quart water
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 -3 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon marjoram
Recipe
- 1 drain the soaked beans, return to the pot add 1 quart of water, bring to a boil lower to simmer, cover, cook 1 1/2 hours.
- 2 add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, cover, lower heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs more.
