New Year's Eve Black-eyed Peas

Total Time: 10 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 12 ounces black-eyed peas (dry)
  • 8 cups water (see recipe instructions)
  • 1 ham bone (with a little bit of ham left on)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeno pepper (chopped finely)
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 place ham bone in a crock pot.
  • 2 cover with black eyed peas.
  • 3 cover with water. (you will need to have about 3 inches of water above the peas).
  • 4 add seasonings and jalapenos.
  • 5 cook on low heat 8-10 hours.
