Curry Daal

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup lentils
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 2 chilies, green seeded and chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic, cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 16 ounces spinach, washed, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 combine lentils, tomato, turmeric, and water.
  • 2 boil until done.
  • 3 add oil to a fry pan.
  • 4 add black mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • 5 add chilies and onion.
  • 6 add garlic, chili powder, and curry powder.
  • 7 cook until seeds pop and veggies are limp.
  • 8 add spinach.
  • 9 add lentils; mix; serve.
