Sauteed Baby Spinach With A Kick

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 12 ounces baby spinach leaves, washed and dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and heat oil.
  • 2 add the sliced mushrooms, onion and garlic. cover skillet and cook until soft and mushrooms start to release their juices.
  • 3 remove lid and add the baby spinach and red pepper flakes; stir.
  • 4 replace the lid and allow to cook for about 3 minutes.
  • 5 remove lid and stir; continue to sautee, uncovered, for another 2-3 minutes or until wilted to your liking.
  • 6 remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
