Smoky Beans For A Crowd

Ingredients

  • Servings: 90
  • 3 lbs bacon, diced
  • 3 medium sweet onions
  • 6 (28 ounce) cans baked beans, undrained
  • 6 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 6 (15 1/2 ounce) cans butter beans, rinsed and drained
  • 3 lbs sausage links, miniature fully cooked and smoked and cut into thirds
  • 3 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/2 cups vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground mustard

Recipe

  • 1 in a large dutch oven, cook the bacon until crisp. drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings. set bacon aside.
  • 2 in the drippings, saute onions until tender. combine beans, sausage, bacon and onions.
  • 3 combine the remaining ingredients; add to bean mixture and mix well.
  • 4 pour into four greased 13 x 9 inch baking dishes.
  • 5 bake, uncovered, at 350ºf for 45-55 minutes or until heated through.
